Body Barre Fitness is a Pilates Barre Studio aimed at achieving each student’s personal fitness goals.  BKS Dance Program is a comprehensive ballet program based on ballet technique and placement. 


Kristen Samson has been teaching Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Men’s/Boy’s Ballet & Pas de Deux, classes on the N.H. Seacoast for over 20 years.   Kristen has produced nationally award winning choreography, staged many classical ballets and choreographed a diverse genera of dance performances including the schools full length all student production of the Nutcracker. Many of her students have gone on to dance professionally, study in prestigious college, university programs, as well as summer dance programs. Kristen has a Vaganova based teaching degree from the Hartford Ballet and a BFA degree, magna cum laude in English Language and Literature from Southern New Hampshire University that she earned in 2007.

 Kristen Samson is a former professional ballerina for the Hartford Ballet, Ballet New England and the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre of Boston.  She has danced and studied professionally for many choreographers and companies.  She has performed soloist roles in Ballets such as Swan Lake, Giselle, Paquita, La Bayadere, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre and The Nutcracker. She has attended schools such as the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Hartford Ballet, Boston Ballet and Walnut Hill School for the Arts. 

Kristen is excited to share her love and passion for ballet technique, barre and pilates with her students and is excited to be in the North Hampton community!



Pilates Barre is a comprehensive total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs, abs and arms, and burns fat in record-breaking time. While primarily working those muscles, we always maintain core stability and whole body alignment, making every exercise a full body exercise.  Barre is a great way to tone muscles and burn calories.  Muscles are worked to the point of fatigue and then released through stretching movements to create long, lean muscles. 

Barre classes are for all levels of students and are not dance classes.  The ballet barre is used for stability while working through pilates based exercises.  Movements are typically small and easy on the joints.  Taking barre classes will increase strength and flexibility. The classes are set to upbeat music and are challenging, fun and fresh.

Our daughter has studied ballet under the direction of Kristen Samson for many years.  Kristen is a kind, tough teacher and director.  She cares greatly about her students and their well-being.  Most importantly she takes the one-on-one time with each student.  She cares passionately about technique.  Our daughter will always carry with her the lessons and technique that she learned from Mrs. Samson.  We wish her the best with her new Pilates Barre studio.  I just wish that I had taken pilates classes from her back when my daughter was younger in the early 2000.   – KL
